CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR
RECEIVING AYAHUASCA

Take this information seriously.
A decoction of "perfume liana" (Banisteriopsis caapi) and chacruna (Psychotria viridis) is absolutely safe for a healthy body. But in combination with narcotic and psychoactive substances, as well as some medications, Ayahuasca can cause serious harm to health, up to and including death. Therefore, please review this information carefully!

Stop taking these substances, 7 days and preferably 14 days, before your ceremony:

  • SSRIs - selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (eg, paxil, fevarin, zoloft);
  • MAOIs - monoamine oxidase inhibitors (for example, azilect, yumex, rasagiline);
  • psychoactive substances, primarily MDMA (ecstasy), ephedrine, amphetamine;
  • alcohol;
  • foods containing tyramine (for example, spicy and aged cheeses, kefir, long-shelf sausages, oysters, sauerkraut, mushrooms, red wine).

For a complete list of foods containing tyramine, see the link.

LIST OF DRUGS AND SUBSTANCES
WHAT TO AVOID

BEFORE and immediately AFTER taking ayahuasca:
ATTENTION! If you are diagnosed with a pathology of the cardiovascular system, before the ceremony, consult with your doctor and start taking the decoction with reduced doses. Ayahuasca increases heart rate and blood pressure (primarily "lower", diastolic). For a healthy person, this is not dangerous, but it can worsen the condition of a patient suffering from certain diseases of the cardiovascular system.

Take precautions - and welcome to a new, enlightened life!

AYAHUASCA AFFECTS THE HEART
VASCULAR SYSTEM

It significantly increases diastolic ("lower") blood pressure
